After the exhilarating cultural extravaganza held in the campus of B.I.T., it was time for the audience to witness some serious alchemy of glamour and technology. The tech fest was organized by the MODEL CLUB and the zeal and enthusiasm among the students was a spectacle to the eyes.

The event embarked on 15th April with the lamp lighting ceremony and speeches delivered by eminent professors immediately followed. The first segment was ‘Technology to Business’ aka T2B that comprised of honorable guests of honor, namely
- Mr. Avelo Roy, CEO, Kolkata Ventures;
- Mr. Vineet Shukla, Lead Marketing Head of Head start;
- Pankaj Sir, assistant Director of MSME;
Each of whom enlightened us with their knowledge on startups and entrepreneurship.
The following day was no different than the first, considering the excitement among the participants and their will to perform. The other segments were
- Kurukshetra- a war of heavy robots;
- Dead or Alive- a breath taking journey of robots through a tempestuous track.
Besides these, there were other significant events like

- Carom Bot,
- TPP,
- Modex,
- Mr. /Ms. Engineer,
- Bike Assembling,
- Junior/ Senior Scientica
- Midnight coding etc.
Students from different colleges and schools also exhibited active participation in these segments.
The complete campus was bustling with both participants and onlookers, experiencing the clash of machines and minds. Meanwhile, Dr. Gautam Sinha, Founding Director of IIM Kashipur, delivered an enlightening guest lecture under the flagship Triveni’17 organized by ISTE student’s chapter.

However, the showstopper was still in the lockers of SANDHAAN i.e. the MEGASHOW. ‘Tron Act’ simply spell bounded the audience. An amazing play of light and darkness, with performers in attires attached with dazzling LEDs. It was a real treat to the audience. To say the least, it made everyone stand on their toes.

Perseverance, courage, wisdom and strength – the tech fest was a litmus test of all these attributes, along with the mega event that took the whole event to its zenith. SANDHAAN’17 ended on a high note, entertaining the crowd that included students from other engineering colleges as well. On a whole, prizes worth Rs. 1,50,000 was bagged by the winners who participated in the various segments.
Apart from the Prizes, paid internship offers were given to the top three teams of T2B:
- Rishi Saurabh of Bit Sindri,
- Team Audioflix from AEC and
- Team Aman of BIT Sindri.
Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India have plans to take these startup ideas forward.
Aman and Monika (batch-2k15) were the winner of ‘The CEO’, a new segment introduced in the event this year.

Chanda Bharti, a final year student of Civil Engineering was conferred the title of Ms. ENGINEER.

The much revered title, exclusively for the first year students, TECHIE OF THE YEAR was bestowed on Nikhil Kumar of Mechanical Engineering.
