The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but the inward significance.

On the propitious evening of 30th April, the Arts Club of BIT Sindri organised the most awaited Flash Mob – Glimpse Art ’22, which took place right outside the Lecture Hall Complex. Strong winds, heavy downpour and lightning just an hour before the event were prescient of what was to come. Eventually the Rain-God gave his permission and the event kicked off with cold air instilling freshness and energy in the crowd. The event was a mega-success and completely mesmerized the BIT crowd. The whole event was hosted by Sandipan Sarkar, Chairman of The Arts Club and Arpana Anikit Minz, Vice-Chairperson of The Arts Club. The event comprised three segments viz., Nukkad-Natak, Choreo, and Vocals.

The evening embarked with a Nukkad-Natak titled “Khel Samman Ka”. The central plot of this drama was themed on “Honor Killing” – an evil practice that is still prevalent in society. The artists from the batch of 2019 and 2020 played their part to perfection which garnered an uproar of applause from the audience. The dramatic depiction of such a sensitive issue was truly heart-wrenching and made every viewer question this prevalent malpractice.

The evening continued with the BIT audience witnessing the Choreo group from the batch of 2020 of the Arts Club. From the batch of 2020 Sanjana Bharti, Bini Binisa Kacchap, Shital Kumari, Vaidehi Singh, Sneha Singh, Manisha Kumari Munda, Aniket Kumar Gupta, Gopinath Murmu, Ritesh Ranjan delivered this flawless performance.

The Vocals section then came into action and struck a chord in the hearts of the attendees with a sensational rendition of songs such as Illahi, Zara Sa and capped it off with the latest hit Pasoori while keeping the audience across every corner of the Lecture Hall Complex engaged with their on-stage antics. Aman Kumar, Priyanka Pandey, Lovely Raj, Amber Singh, Snehjeet Banerjee, Sangeet Agarwal, Basudeb Mishra were from the batch 2019, with Aditya Pathak, Anuj Kumar, Megha, Mamta Soren, Sakshi Shree, Aneesha Liza Lakhra, Subham Raj from 2020 batch arrested the crowd with their magical voice.

The Choreo group of the batch of 2019 concluded the Flash Mob with their stellar dance performance. The ace artists superbly ended the mega-event which was lauded by the crowd. From the batch of 2019 Abhinav Soren, Anjali Baxla, Bhumika Oraon, Dipika Mardi, Kumari Mahigra Bedia, Laxmi Kumari, Nepal Kora, Rani Bhatt, Sibaram Majhi delivered such a magnificent performance.

The first-year students enjoyed the whole event as a curtain-raiser to their lives at BIT while the final year captured unforgettable moments and emotions as it served as the final act in their four-year chapter. As the curtains came down on this magnificent spectacle, Dr. Ghanshyam (Training and Placement Officer, Dean Alumni Affairs cum Senior Administrative Officer) congratulated and appreciated the members of The Arts Club for their brilliant display.
Glimpse’ 22 gave everyone a lot of moments to savour and remember, giving them new verses and topics for their late summer night nostalgia.
