NBA Accreditation for BIT Sindri: The Pursuit of Excellence

Good outcomes do not come from a single day’s work. Rather, they are the sweet fruits of perseverance on the old, sturdy tree of industriousness and assiduity.

Today B.I.T. Sindri is reaping the fruits of its relentless efforts and diligence. Our college has added yet another feather to the cap by becoming an NBA accredited educational institution. It is a proud moment for all BITians because five branches (Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical and Metallurgy) of the undergraduate engineering programme of our college have been bestowed upon with NBA accreditation. Mining and Production branches were already NBA accredited. To add to the pride and joy of the institute, we have now been declared a Tier-2 institute.

The expert NBA team conducted an on-site evaluation of the programs from 20th to 22nd August, 2021. They submitted the report and the competent authority in NBA decided to approve the NBA accreditation of the above said undergraduate engineering programs for the Academic years 2021-2022 and 2022-2023.

It is worth noting that NBA (National Board of Accreditation) is the echelon body that assesses the qualitative competence of Technical institutes in our country right from Diploma to Postgraduate level. Being an NBA accredited institution brings a lot of advantages. The major one being that it greatly helps in placements- both off and on campus. It facilitates MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) between educational institutes and industries or only between educational institutes. NBA accreditation also gives an unmissable edge and recognition to the institute which is a resounding shoutout to our motto: SECOND TO NONE.

This incredible achievement is a testament to the best efforts put in by our Honourable Director, Prof. (Dr.) D. K. Singh. Under his tutelage and expert guidance, we are scaling new heights and gaining trailblazing results. It is also the product of unflinching and unappeasable constant work done by our Departments. The helping hand extended by NPIU, mentors and Director of Science and Technology is appreciable and went a long way in helping us gain this massive success. Dr. Ghanshyam Rai, Heads of Departments and Professors made it possible to carve out this niche for B.I.T. Sindri. A brilliant and bright future awaits B.I.T. Sindri and we cannot wait to march to the pinnacle of academic excellence and success.
