As it continues to climb the success ladder, B.I.T SINDRI, Dhanbad has earned a sense of pride by being selected for NIRF 2021.
Rankings have a demonstrated history to aid the maintenance and enhancement of an Institution’s standing and reputation. Indian Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan released NIRF rankings-2021 on September 9, 2021. Over 6000 institutes, colleges, and universities took part in the national grading exercise across the country. With considerable efforts, B.I.T Sindri, Dhanbad has improved its position by ranking within the band of 201-250 in this year’s National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in the category of engineering colleges. This was the very first time when the institute found its place in the NIRF list. The institute achieved a milestone and improved its previous records since it registered its name for the ranking list.
Currently, the institute assists a total of 3136 Undergraduate students (4 years program) and 227 Post-graduate students (2 years program). The institute has a sanctioned intake of 783 students for UG and 208 students for the PG program across various engineering domains. The institute has witnessed a lot of transformation in the current years and has emerged with flying colors. There has been a surge in placement in recent years. According to TAP cell statistics, the overall number of placements offers relating to various branches in the year 2020-21 is 392 for the batch of 2k17. The institute has taken significant measures to impart quality education and work for the upliftment of its students.
The news of inclusion in NIRF has proved to be a significant milestone in the road to success. The message was first conveyed by the “Training and Placement Officer” of the institute, Dr. Ghanshyam. The news received positive reactions from all its stakeholders. The dedication and combined efforts of Prof. Vijay Pandey, Chairman NIRF Core Team, and Dr. ChV Raghunath, Coordinator played a major role to change this dream to reality and created a proud moment for the BITians.
Director Dr. D.K. Singh has expressed his motivation to bring the institute under the Rank-band of 100 in the upcoming NIRF list. In recent years, the Institute’s administration has been trying its level best to impart quality education to its students. It’s truly said, “Strength and growth come only through continuous effort and struggle.” This achievement is a sign of better things to come for the institute and its students.
