Considering the need of educating undergraduates about Cyber Security and its wider aspects, the MoU was signed between B.I.T. Sindri and Cyber Vidyapeeth Foundation on 16th June 2022. To build a pool of talented individuals with rejuvenated industry-aligned cyber defence skills and knowledge, the two institutions will jointly work for mutual welfare.

The two parties believe that with cooperation and greater understanding, the MoU will immensely benefit the institute and Cyber Vidyapeeth. Thus, both agreed on the following objectives of the MoU ―

  • Regular exchange of resources and information
  • Partnerships in advanced Internet security training and education system
  • Collaboratively working as a true knowledge partner in cyber security for the critical infrastructure sector
  • Establishment and monitoring of a steering committee to oversee progress
  • Collaborative efforts to identify ways of research opportunities in Cyber Defence Space

Budding talents in Cyber Defence Engineering are a key asset to nation’s safety and protection from outside cyber threats. Cyber Vidyapeeth Senior Advisor, Balaji Venkateshwar has highlighted the current need for new online security personnel with 3.1 million global online security services and over one million trained Cyber Rakshak in India. Adding to it, Mr. Shashank S Garuryar, Chairman of Cyber Vidyapeeth stressed the importance of bringing true cyber resilience to India, and that it needs to embark on a journey of talent creation in Cyber Engineering.

Dr. D.K. Singh, Director B.I.T. Sindri, put forth his views on India playing a leading role in Cyber Defence and the need to channel the raw potential of young minds by guiding, mentoring, and educating them about this vast field in the most efficient way. The collaboration will help the students of B.I.T. Sindri grasp and learn the insights of Cyber Defence and Engineering and promote awareness about various aspects of cyber security.
