After the tedious midsemesters, everyone for sure needed a smash to freshen up, to firm up, to gear up again with full exuberance .

FOYC’17 ” is the very first event of the year which marks the commencement of the series of events to follow. It procured the entire batch of 2k17 into eminence in every strand.

Leo Club had organised the two day extravaganza in which the students of 2k17 came up and put all their efforts to give a captivating and enchanting couple of days to college.

The event began on 17th March at 4:15 pm with the lamp lighting ceremony in propitious presence of our Honorable Director D.K Singh Sir, Chief Guest Ex- Prof.G.L Dutta Sir  from IIT Kharagpur,  along with Professor Amar Kumar Sir, Professor In-charge of LEO club.

The next step on the first day towards being the Fresher of the Year, Visuala De Illuminati – an audio visual round followed.

The top 65 contenders competed in the same to jump into the next.

The very first fascinating segment of the evening was Karaoke, wherein participants were to show their mettle in the light of voice as well as their knowledge in music.

Information Technology branch rose up as the winner of this section and with this, the first day was finally wrapped up.

Next day set off early with one of the most enchanting, fascinating and interesting segments- Silver Screen in which participants devisely encapsulated an entire movie into an act of 7 minutes, making it as joyous as possible. Chemical Engg. branch emerged as winner of this segment.

Thereafter, selection procedure of the FOY resumed in which the top twelve were battling hard to get into the next round and to entertain the heavy crowd. It then followed up with an extempore and  a rapid fire quiz round .

On the basis of these three the Top five freshers were be selected .

Rococo – a theme based dress competition took place next in which participants had takes on contemporary and other topics like Girls vs Boys, Daily soaps, Indian Armed forces and so on.

Mechanical blew up the mind of every single head in the crowd and pouched the trophy in this segment.
And after that the most awaited segment of the day filled the audience with zeal  which was next to sky.

ABCD – Any Body can Dance . The performance of all the branches were simply breathtaking wherein the sheer energy and magnificent moves of Electrical Engineers made them stand out of others to win the trophy.

The most special and heart warming segment of the evening, the Final Ensemble watched the whole 2k14 batch unite and relive their best days in BIT.
The spellbound memories were all stringed and left every head in the hall with a feeling of being connected to the same chord. Some perceived students of the Final Year batch were awarded for their exemplary achievements in different fields .

Finally the most anticipated moment settled in where out of top five FOYs, one would be crowned and awarded with the most coveted title of Fresher of the Year 2k17.
In the final round of Magnum Opus, the Top 5 contenders performed prominently in the questionnaire asked by the judge panel that consisted of respected professors and final year students.

Defying all obstacles, coming out as best among those 5, Rahul Ranjan of Mining Engineering took away the golden trophy of FOYC’17.

Thus the enthralling and superlative two-day event concluded astonishingly and left everyone with a curvy smile for following few days. Lastly, Leo Abhimita Banerjee and Leo Ankit Prakash, Vice President and President of Leo Club respectively presented the vote of thanks.

The event was gracefully embedded with all the efforts and dedication of LEO club members that resulted into a spectacular show.
