“Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen.” – Leonardo da Vinci .
The onset of spring brings with it not only greenery and puerility but also the pressure of tests, midsems, sems and vivas. It is the season of exams and our college is no exception with the just concluded mid semesters. With the turn of leaves and blossom of flowers, there is a flurry of cultural events in college starting with the mega event being BITAANSH.
Paintings are one of the best ways to depict one’s emotions, thoughts and reactions. And to encapsulate the gushing talent of young dilettantes Painting Wing of BIT Sindri provides them with opportunity to showcase their creativity in the form of its flagship event Samarpan – a mega painting and sketching exhibition going to be organized on 19th-20th March in association with Jhar-Craft – state’s premier organization for promotion of culture of tribes in the state. With a special corner for BITians, sketches, paintings and crafts from various corners of country will be exhibited at the Exhibition for the aspiring Picassos .
The theme for this year’s exhibition is Superheroes. Other than the exhibition there are many other events too such as Face painting, Mehandi and nail painting, Best out of Waste and Tattoo Making among others. So guys gear up to let your brushes dance to the tune of your imagination and let the world see your magnum opus.

Coming up next is the exhibition by the Literary Society, literary cum cultural club of BIT Sindri , in the form of its flagship event Spandan – basically a literary based exhibition of literary works and arts and crafts.
This event too has many things on its platter to offer as it provides a chance to any individual who has grown literary genes or is a connoisseur of some craft .
The club, established way back in 1984, is one of the esteemed clubs of BIT Sindri which tirelessly strives to justify its punch-line “VOX POPULI” i.e. “voice of the people”. Time and again, the club organises various competitions related to literary and speaking skills which not only enable students to express themselves but to also boost up their confidence and skills.
Other than Spandan, the club has also organized various other events this year which includes Extempore competition on National Education Day, and the Alumni Meet and Guest Lecture. Pre events such as HOSTEL NIGHT, ROOM DE DECOR, and TROIKA are among others organized by the Literary Society .
Completing the trioka here comes the Photography Club with SPARSH to be organized on 19th March.
This club has in its armoury Drishti, DFOY and DJ Night to enthrall the audience.
Drishti is the annual photography exhibition in which a decorated medley of photos of various themes is displayed. To add to the shimmer of the event night and to scale the glamour quotient, ramp walk tagged under D-FOY is there in the basket open for both the host college as well as participants from other colleges. The auditions for the same have already been held yesterday garnering huge response. The club is hosting DJ NIGHT on 19th to raise the volume of fervor and craziness among college folks.
So ….. get ready to go gaga!! Bring forth your inner Shakespeare, Michaelangelo or Jimmy Nelson and let the world know what happens when an engineer lets its hounds of imagination loose through their masterpieces.
