To provide the newbies a grand welcome to the institute and mould them into the frame of mind which is capable of sponging up the maximum possible, the induction program at Bit Sindri premises had made a kick start on 6th August’18 with the lighting of lamps at the Deshpande auditorium.

Though the day had commenced right after the wake up call followed by yoga and meditation programs.
Dr. Ram Gupta briefed the freshers about the two week long scheduled induction program followed by the welcome address of Dr. G. Kumar. The audience was acquainted with the glorious past and how it motors the morphosis of the future. Dr. Jitu Kujur, the academic professor in-charge, discussed briefly about the academic activities that would be taking place throughout the year.

The professor in-charge of the examination department, Dr. C. Thakur, put forward the layout of the examination including the basic rules and the marks distribution for the same. With the aim of making the induction programme competent enough to lay down the foundation on which the edifice of career can stand tall and strong, the training and placement professor in-charge, Dr. Ghanshyam, provided a rundown to the students on the prerequisite skills they would be needing to take advantage of the better opportunities in future lives and also made the students aware of the importance of the technical skills required for grabbing maximum feathers to adorn their graduation cap.

To avoid making this programme a ritualistic exercise, all the professors in-charge of various departments briefly described about their respective departments .
The program was concluded by our respected Director sir, Dr. D. K. Singh, by congratulating the students and their parents. He discussed how the efforts of professor Deshpande and the then chief minister , contributed a lot to this institution to provide the domicile students a platform for higher education and be their best version to take the country to a more developed stage. Elucidating the fact that our roots are deeply ingrained far and wide, he also provided details about one of the alumni of the institution Mr. Krishna, a well renowned personality in the field of generation and development of nuclear energy. “Mr. Krishna is presently in America and will be gracing the occasion of induction program with his presence in the forthcoming days” . One of the other alumni of the institute Sree S. K. Sharma has also reached zenith of success in the industrial field. He stressed upon the fact that this institute is in no ways behind any of the premier IITs. These motivational lines keyed up the students’ excitement.
He also stated that this induction program will lead to a clarity in the mind of students for setting up the future goals, aligning priorities and work processes for better collaboration between the academics and the extracurricular activities . A few of the other professors presented their vote of thanks. The stage was managed by Dr. Sutanuka and Dr. Niharika. The other Professors who marked their presence were Dr. Sadaf, Dr. J.N. Mahato, Dr. Rajiv Verma, Dr. Pankaj Rai, Dr. Rajiv Ranjan, Dr. V. N Rai, Dr. U. K Dey, Dr. Arvind Kumar, Dr. S. K. Dutta, Dr. Prakash and Dr. Amit Gupta. The students were acquainted with the campus through the campus visit and then the general hostel warden, Dr. Pankaj Rai communicated with the parents in the C – 51 auditorium. Finally, the students visited their respective departments and interacted with the professors. For spearheading the dynamic development of the freshmen, every club of the institution was provided an opportunity to manifest their role in the same.
The event seared right into the minds of the new entrants with the addressal of Dr. Rajeev kumar,Director ISM Dhanbad. “Punctuality and discipline are the major aspects of student life. The confine of those four walls lets your imagination run wild and equips the students with the art of solving problems of life”.

The coming days of the induction program will also be filled with many more exciting and enthusiastic addresses and events organized under newly established counselling cell in the campus to support the freshers for their psychological well being as well as to maintain ethical values .
It will assist the individual by providing the skills that will enable the freshers to deal effectively with the aspects of environment and to provide atmosphere in the campus that would permit students to admit the feeling they are experiencing.
The counseling cell of the college is constituted of the Director, the placement officer, department head and their nominees, chief counsellors comprising of the students from TAP cells, sports club and branch toppers with a minimum of 120 strength to deal with the academics as well as psychological issues.
Also the concept of open and closed club system is invalidated and each student can get a chance to be inducted in atmost 2 clubs through the induction process to be held from 9th to 14th of August 2018.
If there is one thing for sure – change is here to stay!
