Change is the only constant in this vast and evolving universe. As we enter the new year, 2025, it’s time to embrace the opportunity to start anew, carrying forward the lessons and triumphs of 2024. This past year was a tapestry imprinted with milestones and challenges. Some things were truly historic, while others brought pain. But that’s the beauty of it—time, no matter how it unfolds, always moves forward and teaches us many things along the way. Now that we have entered 2025, let’s look at some moments that made us feel proud and others that made us teary-eyed.


Assembly elections were held in Jharkhand which was won by INDIA Bloc under the leadership of Hemant Soren and broke the previous record with a voter turnout of 65.6%.
In the Lok Sabha election, the National Democratic Alliance managed to secure 293 seats, which led to Shree Narendra Modi returning for the third term.
A historic event that won the heart of Billions was January 22, the inauguration of the Shree Ram Janmbhumi temple in Ayodhya was a significant cultural and spiritual milestone.
Kashmir has faced one of the deadly terror attacks. Reasi terror attack was one of them. It took the lives of numerous Hindu pilgrims.
The country mourned the passing of a leading singer, Sharda Sinha, including former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Death continued to take its toll as two more celebrated musicians, Ustad Zakir Hussain and Yamini Krishnamurthy, also left us, leaving behind a void.

Amidst such challenges, there were moments when democracy remained intact as Donald Trump returned to power as President of the United States.
In 2024, India celebrated remarkable achievements on the global sports stage. At the Paris Olympics, the nation secured its highest-ever medal tally, bringing home 29 medals, surpassing the previous best of 19 medals at the Tokyo 2020 Games. In the field of cricket – a perennial source of national pride, we witnessed India clinching the T20 World Cup after 17 years after defeating South Africa in the finals. India also absolutely dominated the world stage of chess winning multiple teams and individual global events. India won the gold in the Chess Olympiad in both the Open and the Women’s section, Gukesh Dommaraju became the youngest ever World Chess Champion after defeating Ding Liren at the age of just 18 and Koneru Humpy was crowned the Women’s World Rapid Champion.
ISRO has launched the SpaDeX mission in which docking of two satellites is going two place. If this mission is successful then India will become the 4th country do so.
In the film world, Oppenheimer won the Academy Award for Best Picture was a stirring example of how storytelling can be used to make something lasting.
