The eerie silence that surrounds
No jitter, not any sound.
Agony and pain eating away,
The mortal soul crumbling down.

Whence was this sorrow born?
Where did it come from?
The distant sound of the Banshee echoes
Within the heart, ripped and torn.

With a hollow smile on face,
I’m running in the rat race.
The solemn silence always haunts,
And the fear of loss daunts.

Amidst the billions of thoughts that throng,
What is right? What is wrong?
In the quest for the answer,
I move on and on.
