2021 has been a year of progress on the startup front for India. We have seen a whopping increase of 33 in the numbers of unicorns present in the nation today as compared to last year, resulting in India displacing the UK in top 3 to take the 3rd position on the list of most unicorns added in 2021 with a tally of 54.

It is safe to say that startup culture is in full flow across the country and in the campus of BIT Sindri, as is evident by the recent rating of 4 stars awarded to the Institute Innovation Council.

Cognizant of the vision to develop India  into an Aatmanirbhar (self-reliant) country and to discuss the challenges faced by a startup along with the probable solutions, a seminar was organised in campus of BIT sindri by the Institute’s Startup Cell. The program which was held on December 23 had three college alumni, Mr Atul Kumar, Mr. Pranay Kumar and Jaikishan Bangia as speakers.

Mr. Atul Kumar of 1985 batch, a renowned entrepreneur in his field, discussed and interacted with the students on challenges and opportunities for startups in Jharkhand, where he was joined by Mr. Jaikishan. He shared his own experience and expertise, hence encouraging the young minds to pursue the path of entrepreneurship.

He briefed the students on the potential difficulties that they can encounter as an entrepreneur and the ways to overcome those roadblocks in path of becoming a successful businessman. He also evaluated the entrepreneurial ideas of the students. Prior to this the three entrepreneurs also inspected the Siemens lab as well as the Entrepreneurs and Innovation Council

The attendees of this innovation driven seminar included the Institute’s director Dr. D.K. Singh, and Dr. Prakash Kumar, HOD, Production Engineering, whereas  Abhinav, Chandra Prakash, Ashutosh, Raj, Gautam and Mannu were student participants.
