Dr. Rajendra Prasad Memorial Metal Quiz’18.

On 30th September 2018, the atmosphere in our own Deshpande Auditorium was highly charged, the reason being Dr Rajendra Prasad Memorial Metal Quiz’18. 115 teams from 18 schools locked horns in a day-long inter-school Quiz on the topic of Metallurgy and Material Science and Engineering under the aegis of Department of Metallurgical Engineering, in association with IIM( Indian Institute of Metals) Students’ Chapter, B.I.T Sindri.
The Chief Guest, Shri Bhushan Singh, Head of HR & ES and factory manager, Jindal Steel, offered more than just inspiration, he provided invaluable advice to the students guiding their way towards the light of the tunnel. The other eminent guest speakers, Hon’ble Director, B.I.T Sindri, Dr D.K Singh and respected professors too sparked the enthusiasm among the students. The erudite discussion on metals and an insight from a business perspective was an eye-opener for the young minds. Prof. B.N Roy, HOD Dept. Of Metallurgical Engineering, B.I.T Sindri, Prof. R.K. Verma professor, Department of Physics, Prof. A.K Rajak, Prof. Tvarit Patel and The Steel Chair Professor Mr C.D. Singh fostered the quality of leadership and team work.
Each team had to qualify in the following 2 rounds to stand the chance of winning the technical quiz on metals –
1. The mains round to shortlist the top 15 teams.

2. The stage rounds– Rapid fire, logo round, Audio-Visual round, Personality round and finally the SPARK Round to decide the winner.

After these rigorous testing and fun-filled quizzing rounds, those who emerged victorious are:

1st: Amit Kumar Singh and Ayush Kumar Rai (TATA DAV JAMADOBA)
2nd: Subhangi Anand and Niharika (Delhi public school, Dhanbad)
3rd: Chaitak Gorai/Ankit Kumar (S.V.M. SINDRI)

The winners were elated on getting the opportunity to be the face of their respective schools in the State Level quiz in Jamshedpur, to be organized by Indian Institute of Metals, Jamshedpur and the winners there will get an opportunity to participate in Professor Brahma Prakash Metal Quiz organized by IIM , Kalpakkam Chapter and of course the gift hampers and trophies.
Our heartiest congratulations to the participants and Winners and Kudos to the organizing team for their efforts. The different team coordinator from different schools congratulated the organisers and also requested them to organise the same quite often.
