The mega event of metallurgists DHATVIKA, an annual fest, that is held every year in the month of March, witnessed the inauguration rituals on March 18th. DHATVIKA’17 , co-presented as ‘National Symposium’, under the stellar line of ‘Advances in  Iron Making’, a two day fest scheduled from March 18th to 19th, concluded  with a grand success.

Lamp lighting ceremony initiated by delegates

The event commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony to which followed the inaugural speech by the chief guest of the evening, Shri Rajiv Kumar (Vice President TATA Steel, Kalinganagar). Following the inaugural speech, delegates spoke few words of encouragement to the students. Dr(Prof) D.K.Singh, honorable Director, B.I.T Sindri approbated the efforts of the students and encouraged them  to take more such initiatives. Shortly after  this, Aakriti (poster making) and Exemplar (model exhibition) round were initiated. The jury members, comprising of the delegates, evaluated and praised the creative acumen in students. The event  witnessed a colorful ambience of battle in various technical and non-technical segments.

Right after the lunch, Aarambh (a paper presentation round) took place which unveiled the technical potential in students. With Prarambh (a technical paper presentation round exclusively for the students of first year), the first day of the mega event wrapped up. The second day saw even a greater height of zest among the students which started with technical lectures and online events such as Metallic Lens-a photography round and Alankan- a T-shirt designing round, going concomitantly.The second half resumed with its much awaited segment of Mishran (general quiz) and Ayas (a metal quiz). The quiz round transformed the vibe of the audience in the auditorium. The loud appreciation of audience was perspicuous from the huge rounds of applause. Participants from our college as well as from other premiere institutions like NIT Durgapur, NIT Jamshedpur, NIFT, RIT-Koderma and many other, took part and showed their mettle. The event was a reality that came true with the assiduous and continuous efforts of the entire metallurgical fraternity.

and many more who put in their utmost efforts. The two  day festive carnival was a matter of pride for the Metallurgical guild of B.I.T.Sindri. At last the event wrapped up with felicitation process and blessings.
